I may be disappointed and concerned and the "media portrayal" of Trump has nothing to do with it. For me, and a lot of people, my opinions of Trump came straight out of his mouth, captured on unedited video, the blatant lies, demonization of others, painting himself as the ultimate victim.
Talk about scare tactics, he used them at all of his rallies and people bought into lies or gross exaggerations.
I hope he won't find a way around checks and balances and surround himself with people who have better sense and character than he does.
One of the first things he's going to do makes me sick to my stomach --- pardoning those sent to prison because of their unlawful actions on 6 Jan.
I think I need to accept that the values of truth, honesty, respect, accountability, empathy for others have no place in politics. I'm no angel, but I'm determined to teach my kids these things as well to be tough, be good sports, a good work ethic, obey the law.
Politicians are off the table to use as role models.
