John McCain was very well liked and respected by Democrats and in a lot of ways he was the antithesis of Trump.

McCain's daughter, a very conservative Republican, hates Trump and his son announced he was voting for Harris. Trump wasn't invited to his funeral.

When McCain was running against Obama, a woman in the audience at a town hall stated to McCain that she didn't trust Obama because he was an Arab. This was at a time of the Trump initiated lies that Obama was not a US citizen. McCain set the woman straight as opposed to just letting her believe a lie about his opponent.

My point is, this war hero, a Republican who was liked and respected by both sides did not deserve to be disrespected this way. Yet, we expect that from Trump, who got a note from his father's tenant getting him out of service to our country.
