Sorry BK, I forgot to say that I do have the dead battery in my laptop so the charger actually is trying to charge the battery, the battery just won't take the charge.

I do think you might be correct about the light coming on because it was trying charge the battery.

The other thought I had is that I remember quite a few years ago my BIL walking me through the command steps to get my desktop pc to turn on by itself on a certain day/time to record a show he wanted recorded, so there's a possibility that the laptop with the Vista os was set up at one time to turn on by itself and that lingering command didn't get wiped out when I installed the ChromeFlex os.
