Soldiers partied while in country also.Anything to divert their attention.My wonderful husband and his buddies wanted a swimming pool so they got braver under the influence and at night took a helicopter to a Naval storage area.Imagine flying materials on the end of cables back and forth without getting caught.Maybe the sailors slept more soundly or just plain didn't care.

I have photos of the pool assembled with those "lifted" materials.First time I saw the pictures I thought at first it was somewhere they went for R&R.And then there is a photo with a baby elephant in said pool.

Seems after a few beers they thought their pet needed a bath.Haha next morning they couldn't get the baby pet out of the pool so another lift was made with the copter.Dumbo was flying lol.

They couldn't keep dogs for pets.They kept disappearing.Ask the natives why.Anyway the pooled funds and rented a baby elephant for a pet.

I also have photos of my husband when his mouth was wired shut after a bad fall from a communications tower.Said he cut slivers of salami and pushed it between the wiring and dissolved it with vodka.There is more to that story but...
