This leads to certain speculation: even males are capable of certain acts of "fertility" only after reaching puberty.
However, we know well that throughout several centuries, boy children 4-10 years old were relatively often monarchs (though not all the time), and thus sacerdotal performers. Indeed, the abdication custom of many many centuries seems to have preferred very underage monarchs.
It may be that this line of speculation is mistaken, and the rite of fertility in question here, does not require at least puberty. But on the other hand, knowing something about ancient rites of agriculturalist populations, it very well may be just such acts.
If, however, the acts of fertility in question do not require at least puberty-age maturity of males, then what could be such a nature of fertility act which excludes females?
