However, it is true that the allies did support the Communists in the North, becaue they were the only ones actually fighting the Japanese. Most of the aid came via the China, then largely bankrolled by the US. The Chinese nationalist army was supposed to be the occupying force in the North, while the British were to be so in the South, before both handed over to the French.
