UMKC wait list

Anyone hear back from UMKC? They put me on the wait list. Does anyone know the chances of getting an interview if you're waitlisted? What else can I do to try to get in?

I got the same email. DIdnt even know such a thing existed until that email. I was thinking it could be a soft rejection, but its slightly better than an outright rejection. -_- We just have to hope that there are people who will reject the interview.

THere is really nothing else we can do to have a better chance at this point as stated in the email & confirmed by the admissions counselor(I called). Are you out of state(Kansas/ Missouri) by any chance? I know they give priority to Kansas/ Missouri residents & pick more than half of the student body from in state applicants. I'm out of state btw.

Me too, I'm really hoping spots will open up! Since UMKC starts earlier than other programs, I wonder how the students that are interviewed will be able to make a decision so fast? This could be their first school that gives them an offer, then if they reject that offer they have a chance of missing out on a school that wanted them. You know what I mean? Maybe I'm overthinking :O I think we should know within the next 1-2 weeks. I am out of state (FL).

Yeah. I'm assuming most people accepted the interview offer since it's early. I'm not holding my breath that an interview spot opened up this late. The counselor said we should hear from them late September, so probably next week.
