1099 contract is a salary arrangement. I am on call 24/7 when I am on duty and when not on duty, I leave town. About 1-2 days a month I may put in a 20 hour day. I usually work 6-8 hours a day two days of the week. The rest of the time I am just on pager call for whatever comes up. Total workload is about 20 hours a week. Of course, I am a CRNA working in a small town as an independent contractor. A situation that AAs can not do. However, I am willing to bet that if you look at total compensation packages, an AA can easily pull $200,000 a year.
