To extend health coverage to uninsured Americans, the measure creates a new public health plan that would pay Medicare rates plus 5%. Under a Medicare +5% anesthesia conversion factor (Medicare 2009 CF is approximately $21.00, M+5 =$22.05) a CRNA providing 100% nonmedically directed care to an average number (900) of average-length (13 unit) cases in a year would bill about $257,985 over a year.
