    Umm...I don't like to be so straightforward regarding the decisions of other peoples' lives...however, don't go to medical school!!! At least not right now. Family and being with your kids are much more valuable than two letters after your name.

    I am also in the same boat. Although I don't have a child, I am engaged and after meeting my future wife I have chosen the AA over the MD path. Both careers are mentally invigorating, but here is the real kicker...MD: you have no life besides your work, your job will come before your family...AA: you go to work, decide your hours, come home, and that's it.

    Besides, in 8 years if you decide that you must really become an MD, once you already have a nice amount of money saved up, you can go back to medical school, which will be a lot easier after your clinical experience and earning a masters in applied anesthesiology. GO TO AA SCHOOL!!!
