Woah, first of all relax. Notice my first line that states, "feel free to disagree", as in this is only an opinion. I'm not "trashing" your idea, strictly stating other options that you may have not thought about to stimulate your thinking. Call it constructive criticism. Obviously everyone has taken a different path to get to where they are. It seems like you want to reapply next year right? Go to www.asatt.org and check it out. It appears it takes at least 2 years to become a bonafied Anesth. Technician. Once again, there is nothing wrong with becoming a tech, it just seemed you were missing some information. I understand its hard to get a feel for someones intentions because you're only reading text and there's no emotion. Read my other posts, I'm actually encouraging and trying to help wherever. BTW. The interview question was just to give you a heads up on the type of mindset you have to have when going into the interview process next year so you can kill it! Not because I just want to be an ahole. They ask you those type of questions to throw you off guard, your response was not bad, now you're already one step ahead. Hope you don't still feel salty.
