Please feel free to disagree but I would not recommend investing the time to becoming an anesthesia technician to get into AA school. Would you be satisfied working as a technician if you do not get into school? If so, then sure go ahead and do it. However, if you only plan on doing it to get into school, and if denied, you choose another career, its obviously not worth the effort. I would recommend using that time to do more volunteer type work and/or anesthesia observations. If you have fulfilled your AA pre-reqs, find a part time job in lab somewhere or research, something that does not require training. Remember, during your interview they may ask you, "Why did you decide to do AA when you spent the time to become a technician and were already a part of the anesthesia team?" What would be your response?
