Dude? How professional. Did they teach you that down in Texas? CRNAs WERE the most numerous until about 1970-80. Good point, then they were pass by MDAs. Now with CRNA schools turning out 1000 per year too few CRNAs just to keep up with demand and the impending retirement of the baby boomer CRNAs, there is more than enough room and potential for an explosion in numbers of AAs. Sit back and watch.... One more state every year allowing AAs? In 40 or so years, that will be all the states allowing them.. One or two new programs every year, in 40 years there will be 40-80 programs. Just like Nurse Anesthesia, it started slow then there was a sudden (explosive) increase in programs and numbers. Yes, it is a prediction, but I do not seen the AANA doing anything to change the projection.
