Sometimes I think it is a crapshoot or the luck of the draw. I applied to Emory this year and did not get accepted. I had a 3.8 undergrad gpa in spanish and geography and a 4.0 gpa from a masters program in economic geography. I had a 1200 GRE score. The only experience I had was the required 8 hours of shadowing and at the time of the interview I had only completed three of the prerequisite courses. By the time I apply for next year I will have completed all of the prereqs plus a second semester of organic, microbiology, genetics, medicinal chemistry, anatomy and physiology, and cell and molecular biology. Hopefully A's in those classes will get me in. I also plan on doing shadowing this summer.
