    AA advice please!! Archived Message

I am 28 years old and I have worked as a neurodiagnostic tech (SSEP girl!!) for the past 4 years. I like what I do and find great value in it, but part of me wants to be even more involved in patient care. I do not have an RN, and I do not want to go back to school for four more years... so my choices are pretty much AA or PA. I also worked as a paramedic through college. I work in the OR everyday and I have seen both PA (surgical) and AA lifestyles and I feel like AA suites me better. I am cautious however because I dont know much about the difference between AA and CRNA. How limited are you being an AA in a CRNA world? I am already hated as an SSEP girl by most CRNA's (and probably AA's!) and I have no desire to spend 2 years and 60 grand on a career that will land me in another despised profession. I would like to hear from any AA's out there as I furthur contemplate my situation. If I stay in my current field, I will probably end up capping out at 100K in 10 years or so. Do you think becoming an AA is worth it? If you current AA's were in my situation, would you do it all again?
