If current payments remain, with increases for inflation I see pay going up each year as it has done since I started working. (Pay in 1975 was $1000 a month and we thought that was pretty good.) But with all of the presidential candidates harping about "fixing" health care in the USA, I see the same thing happening as with Medicare. Payments will not keep up with inflation and will actually go down. So with pay in the $150,000- $200,000 range now, I see it going down quite a bit. Already Medicare has cut, and in response some insurances have cut. And how Medicare goes, the industry goes. The risk to pay is socialized medicine, not any competition factor between AAs and CRNAs. A secondary risk is a recession with less surgery coming through the door.
