hey Dave, I've noticed alot of the newer ER docs are using zemuron and versed for routine intubations.. I've been trying to persuade then to use something else like anectine or propofol but they look at me like I'm an idiot because I'm a Resp. Therapist. I've done many intubations in my 17yr carreer but I never felt comfortable using a long acting paralytic until the airway was secured..I've considered talking to the cheif of staff at the hospital because I'm afraid someone is going to die if they are paralyzed and then the doc can't get the airway.. What do you think?
