DD. OK. The USA had TONS of doctors with nothing to do so when anesthesia became available there was a flood of doctors into the profession. But they did not want to work so THEY developed Nurse Anesthetists so they could make money off of them. Then the MDAs lost control of the nurse anesthetists and they want to try again with a new group. You like that explaination better?
I suggest you read my other post... Nurse anesthetists have been around for 140 years. CRNAs have only been around for 65 years. Your claim that CRNAS have been around for close to a century is wrong EITHER way you look at it. You clearly do not know the history of your own group.
I think the AAs here realize you are a nut case and anything that does not fit with your world view you can not accept.
In regards to AAs being "cheaper to train" or "work for less" in some cases that is true. I did not mean it as an insult. I previously have said that if CRNAs and AAs are working at the same place doing the same work, they definitely should get the same pay. I only used that as one example of why some want AAs, and in fact, that is percisely the claim that DD is using, but she also claims the MDAs pocket the difference.
