"Just getting started...????" Thirty years ago you just got started!! One big difference between CRNAs and AAs is that we have the OPTION of working with or without MDA supervision/direction....AAs, by the A$A design of your field, will never be able to exercise that option.

There WILL come a time when AAs might realize that DO NOT need the supervision of the doa....how frustrated and demeaning will it be for you to THEN realize that you have no option??

It may well be that AAs will NEVER want that independence and autonomy....as there are some CRNAs who do not want it....but that is their choice....please, recognize the difference as being what it is and that's all it is....it's about options...YOUR options....if you are an independent thinking type person that wants to demonstrate your education and expertise and not have to always be totally giving the credit to someone else, someone who you'll find in the lounge, drinking coffee, napping, playing video games....while YOU do the case, then so be....some folks don't mind that relationship.

I've been doing anesthesia in all anesthesia environments for in excess of 30 years....and workiing for doas for a total of 4 of those years was the most devoid of gratification of my entire career.....it wasn't when I was young and with less experience, but after a while, it REALLY gets old....REALLY OLD.
