You ever wonder why there are so many CRNA trolls on this board? Why so many CRNA's want to discourage a handful of AA's from finding work in the ACT model? Why they say so many lies and nasty comments?

It is because they are terrified another qualified provider will "move-in" on their turf.
They are worried, rightfully so, that the organization and its members which controls 90% of all Anesthesia contracts in the USA is getting really fed up with them.

Wannabe Doctors who prefer to claim "equivalence"
to a Physician with a Medical Degree and a four year Residency. Most Nurse Anesthetists are community college graduates with a bridge to a BSN (night classes) while working in the ICU. Then, they get a Masters Degree with on the job training to become a CRNA at the same time.

After getting this level of FORMAL Education they believe that this earns them the right to practice a recognized field of Medicine independently. Their parent organization uses propoganda to gain through education what they did not get through formal education.

Only a Physician should Practice Independently.
In the 21st Century, Anesthesia is much more complicated than the 19th Century when Nurses did it alone. These days the anesthetic is riskier than the surgery most of the time. Yet, the AANA claims "Nurses can do it just as well."

On top of all this, these same Nurses won't allow anyone else to participate even with the same level of formaal education. It does not matter if you are an experienced Respiratory Therapist with a Bachelor's degree who then went to a Masters level AA program because unless you are a "Nurse" you can't do Anesthesia.

So, a Nurse with a Masters Degree should be allowed to practice Anesthesia in the 21st Century SOLO but an AA with a Masters Degree and the same level of formal training should not be allowed to practice under the Supervision of a Board Certified Physician. Why?

The reason is crystal clear. Since 90% plus of all CRNA's work under the direction/supervision of a Board Certified MDA these Nurses don't wany any competition. They want to exclude anyone elese from getting a piece of the action. They want to destroy the competition so they can control the work place and dicatate the terms.

Well, the AAAA working with the ASA (who we respect) is going to start more programs. The AA's are going to become a factor in the Anesthesia world. Despite the AANA and CRNA's like DD we are here to stay. Get used to it because you will be seeing more of us.
