I’d say simply because we are British but I’m not sure that’s an excuse… I’m a little unsure how else you would say it? As in I’ve tried to pronounce it the way it’s spelt about and I simply can’t … I should google the American pronunciation on YouTube I also feel that it’s one of those words even we stumble on when pronouncing it though
