They are good friends and extremely informed about a lot of different topics. They have hilarious conversations which are really interesting and enlightening. At the end the producer "fact checks" some of what's discussed, and that's funny and informative in itself.

If you like intelligent conversation about a variety of topics, you'll may enjoy this podcast. Bonus points because the male host sounds exactly like Ira Glass, and the female host is a woman of color.
