I never had a problem in Pumphrey. In 1977 I handled an armed robbery of 2 W-M juveniles who were walking the train tracks. Me and Ken Koehler made 4 arrests (he charged 2 and I charged 2) of local juveniles with no problems from family, in fact one's mother helped get confession. Met a good family while handling a B & E and they had the clear vinyl slip covers on furniture, very neat, offered me iced tea. Gave a new perspective on what you heard about Pumphrey. Other than the group that hung out in the "bottom" by the tracks and around the 55 gal drum fire no problems. In fact, one midnight I even felt comfortable dozing behind the old school there.
