Nice to see a variety of model makers attempts. I put the swastikas at the wrong angle when I painted my Neptun model of Bismarck into Baltic Camouflage a long time ago and I've never got round to correcting my mistake. I was surprised to see Gotland with a green flightdeck but mine has the neutrality markings on the hull. I took those models plus Prinz Eugen and the three destroyers (all in standard Neptun grey finish) to the VE-Day display at my local village hall (along with models of the 70-plus Royal Navy ships that it took to sink the Bismarck). My idea was to show my neighbours more of what the Royal Navy contributed to victory in Europe. Several of the villages brought along their artifacts of their relativesservice in the Navy and I was able to supply them with information that they did not know.
Sinking the Bismarck was the first strategic victory of Britain against Germany in WW2. Never again were German regular surface warships sent into the Atlantic to disrupt shipping. Previous Message
