For a tool that costs a few bucks, the UV light is surely worth a try. One of the obvious corners to cut in the production process is the amount of curing time. I have no direct knowledge of this company, but the kits I bought from SSModels a couple of years ago came with injection molded plastic parts. Maybe these problems are just due to inexperience.

I ordered my first one, USS Albany (1899), a somewhat neglected subject with multiple fighting tops on thin masts. I suspect most of the masts and spars will need replacing with brass wire, perhaps a bit of soldering.

I’d always prefer a centrifugal-cast metal model, using a computer-rendered master, but costs may have put these out of reach. Should be an interesting Kassel meeting this year.
