Looks like a production of South Salem models. More guessing: SS initially produced the model in question, but since it was a typical British ship design, later revised No.13 as a definitely Japanese design, thus the SAN DIEGO MARU, as issued in the set. This is kind of a wild supposition, but changes in models in I.D. sets did happen. Good luck with this one. Please note that the IMF will disavow any knowledge of this occurence!
No luck trying to snap the funnel off. The area where the funnel should be shows no signs of distress or filing.
