    Mike, it was most likely sent back to the factory for the second set of barrels. An extra set would cost half the price of the gun and so many times the extra set was of a lower quality to offset the price. The engraving and checkering of the wood would also reflect that.
    From the Production Records, only 7 12 gauge A1's were shipped with an extra set of barrels and there are no records of guns returned for an extra set.
    Also recorded were that some of the extra barrels were 29" and 31". So it is very possible they made yours 27" but it is not recorded.
    A research letter could still give you some information.
