    As mentioned by Bill, acid flux to tin the area where the rib meets the barrels. Rinse acid residues, then use rosin flux to flow the solder after its wired together. I found 60/40 tin/lead solder is best and can be found at Hobby Lobby (used in stained glass window crafts).

    Since you have the barrels down to the white, now is the time to get it done right. Consider doing the entire bottom rib. Possibly the top rib too, even though it may not show signs of problems.

    Get it air tight, and final finishing will go that much better.
