color case hardening crucible Archived Message

I was wondering if someone had a special made crucible for color case hardening a LC Smith receiver. I was planning on building one for this and need ideas. My main goal is to allow the parts to drop in quench tank in the right direction so that color forms as "evenly" as possible. Also, what blocking or supporting is done to prevent warping. My main goal is to get as close to factory colors as possible. Planning on using a 1:1 ratio to attain the factory colors. I have color case hardened a few guns mostly Winchesters and small parts such as hammers and triggers and get very good results. This is my first lc smith and want to do it right. Any bits of advice are greatly appreciated. Thanks Zach
