It would take a little time, but I could go into the records and find the first, last, etc. for any of the grade/gauge/options combinations. Would all that I could identify still survive, or are some of them at the bottom of a marsh or lost in a fire?

The primary goal of establishing the Chronology was to engage L.C. Smith owners to see how their (surviving) shotguns fit into the production sequence. After viewing the Chronology entries that relate to their own shotguns, they may see that they have an older or newer example. They may have one that does not fit into an existing category and wish to start a new category. Some have told me that it creates interest in their own collection.

It has been nearly a year since the Chronology was updated, and I will place a call for new submissions on the Forum today. I hope that everyone will look at the Chronology and compare the information provided with their shotguns. Part of the fun is being able to knock an earlier entry off the list.
