    CORRECTION:
Just noticed the Brophy recap was recorded in serial number order and not in ship date order; SO the last/newest A-3 recorded in Mr. Brophy's recap was #204947, which gun shipped on 12/31/15. That gun could have been completed years earlier and used as part of the Hunter Arms exhibition displays common to this period, then put up for sale after Hunter changed the grades line-up in 1912; or it could have been a special order gun, as we've recorded one special ordered A-2 Grade that was shipped in 1916 (4 years after that grade offering was discontinued). We'll likely never know the exact reason for the late ship date, but I've checked my notes and can tell you that Jim Stubbendieck's research efforts recorded a total of 19 A-3' guns compared to only 17 by Mr. Brophy. I'm convinced others were produced as I've seen and held two of those guns personally; but for some reason/s we'll never know, were recorded as lower grades in the original shipping records.
