I have two 2 barrel sets, and they happen to be one of each type described above. I have a grade 2E from 1906 that was built with two sets of barrels, and the entry in the ledger shows that. I also have a Pigeon grade built in 1909 with chain Damascus barrels that was sent back to Hunter in 1927 for an extra set of steel barrels. For that one, they went back and crowded the information into the original entry in the ledger. I understand that more often than not, the 2nd st of barrels is not noted if added later.
