There is no reason to go to the expense of RST or Polywad shells for a postwar LC Smith. The gun will have been proofed for modern standard pressure loads, and the barrels and action are as strong as any. The weakness of LC Smith guns is in the butt stock, because a lot of wood had to be removed to accommodate the cocking and locking mechanism, and even more wood had to be removed when a single trigger was installed. For those reasons, only standard velocity shells with standard weight of shot should be used. From memory, that means shells marked 2 3/4 Dram Equivalent with 1 ounce of shot. Such shells can be found at Walmart or ny sporting goods store. Low pressure has nothing to do with recoil, and recoil is the only problem for any steel barrel LC Smith.
