I'm planning a bird hunt in South Africa (SA) (possibly using an Elsie). An individual is limited to 11 lbs. of ammo for import into SA therefore it is necessary to purchase ammo in SA.
Hull Cartridge Company appears to provide the best ammo. After researching Hull Cartridge they advertise a speed for 12 bore of 1450 feet per second - 28 - 32 grams of shot.
Would an Elsie be able to handle 6 days of this (an average of 20 birds daily)?
My own experience and other shooters I've read about indicate that slower speeds give the better patterns. Can anyone provide info on the quality (effectiveness) of Hull products?
