I also have a favorite / commercially available but none-the-less toxic/stinky! Brownells carries a product called "whiting - I belive" for just such problems. I have used a paste of this mixed with Formby's brand stripper "wash" not the finish stripper itself. Mix up a gooey batch and place it on the area / let it dry for a day or two. Stuff comes off full of brown crappy colored "old oil"!!!
