CORRECTION ON THE CORRECTION "Denatured" is the term used to process ethanol to make it poisonous (and exempt from liquor taxes!) METHANOL is the most common additive to accomplish this, usually with the addition of 10% methanol to the ethanol. Either way, don't make any cocktails with it! Methanol is the preferred solvent and stripper for shellac.
