To preempt any comments or concerns regarding the relationship between the LC Smith Collectors Association and the Cody Firearms Museum, I offer the following:

On behalf of the Cody Firearms Museum and the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, I congratulate the LCSCA on obtaining a copy of the LC Smith records from the Marlin Firearms Company.

Jim and others consulted with me when this opportunity first came to light. In addition to asking for confidentiality, they asked questions and requested information and suggestions and I answered to the best of my ability based on my experience with the production of factory letters.

We wish the best of luck to the LCSCA, Jim, Frank, and everyone else in this venture. The leadership of the organization has been informed that we will give them our full support and if there are questions they have as they move forward, we will be happy to answer these questions.

As for the Cody Firearms Museum Records Office, we will not be modifying our service, fee structure, or support of the community of firearms collectors (of any make). We still intend to provide the best product we can.

If there are any concerns or questions regarding the Cody Firearms Museum and this statement, please feel free to contact me here or at my email.

    David Kennedy
    Curator
