    David, you are correct it does say Syracuse and the barrel has no pitting in or outside. I measured the barrel at 30". I'm going to give my father this gun to add to our family collection and keep the other not is such good shape L.C. for myself. I'm going to take some pictures of that one and share them soon, It needs a little love hasn't been cared for properly...If I told you i bought them both for 1200.00 would you say i made a wise purchase? Other than the obvious history and beauty.
