Spreading the word through friends, gun shows, etc about what you are looking for is a real bonus. Takes time. I got a 16g, Ideal grade, double triggers for $900. It is an honest gun with honest wear but not abused, clean bores, crisp triggers, some case harding left, scratches but no big dings in the wood and good bluing except right at the end of the barrels. Got it from a fellow hunter ed instructor. A very close family friend (they referred to him as Uncle) left the gun to him. He hadn't shot it in 25 years. His children didn't want it. He heard I liked LC Smiths, asked me about it. He wanted to know the gun had a good home like an old friend rather than being traded out someplace. I promised him I'd be keeping it. And with my two son's drooling also, he sold it to me. A very nice shooting addition for me.
