    Jeff: unless a gun is a pristine 'collector', I see no reason not to make it right for you and your intended use. I do like the modifications to be 'period appropriate'; a Silvers style pad rather than a new super-synthetic, an ivory bead rather than a fiber-optic, maybe a light weight lace-on pad if there's too much drop rather than an adjustable comb. Any 12, 16, or 20 with 28-30" brls, opened to Sk 1 and Sk 2, chamber lengthened if it's a 16 or 20, stock glasbedded, and with appropriate loads, makes a wonderful skeet, sporting clays, preserve bird, and quail gun
