let's talk LC Smith Archived Message

I have several LC Smith's as well as some Fox Sterling-Worths, Ithica, and a Simpson from Germany. Yes, I know, don't have much - talking about the Simpson, of course. I have been wanting to post this for a long time. There is no question about it, I am in love with my LC Smith's, but the more I learn the more questions I have. The Hunter One Trigger-if it is not very reliable and subject to failure at the worst possible time-why are they so much higher than an LC without it? Ejectors - that will cost a hefty $500/$600 more- I just don't see the big deal! As I am not really a collector, just love to hunt and shoot clay birds. Been up and down the forum regarding restored guns only worth 50 to 60 percent of what an original would cost and that really blows my mind. As I have looked at some restored guns that were just beautiful and I have my doubts if anyone could say for sure that they were re-dos. Of course, I have seen some bad ones too. A few months back I broke the top lever on my 20 guage Smith, had it fixed with a replacement lever and was absolutely sick. Called the Gentleman in Bloomington NY and rest is history. I know where it was broken and I cannot find it as they repaired it, case colored it to match the rest of the case hardening on my beautiful 20 guage.
