Recently inherited my Dad's Featherweight 12 gauge and it rekindled my love affair with old doubles. In my search through the various web sites and the few shows I have been able to attend I have come across a small number of older Smith doubles that have two sets of barrels numbered to the receiver. The question that I have is in regard to the forearm iron - is there a norm regarding this configuration? Did Hunter Arms provide a forearm for each of the barrels when purchased or was that also a special order? Thank you for any information.
