Thank you Tom A and Tom R. This dog is out of a litter of 8. Seven males and 1 female. The mother is out of DeCoverly and the male is from Pinecobles. Back in both of their lineages there is Old Hemlock in them. This is the first male I have ever owned, always owned a female. The female belongs to a good friend of mine and I had my pick. The mother is a tri-color and that is what I really wanted, Only one had the faintest bit of brown. Max is black and white.
Sorry for the long story, but he is always with me around the house. Power tools, saws, table saws, shop vacuums, lawn mowers, nothing phases him. The sound of a .22 is a sound he has not heard. Well today I put a few quail out, by the time I went into the field he hunted like crazy but no bird, left the area. Later on I opened the pen and let one other one out, and went and got him. He pointed it right under the pen. When the bird flushed I shot the .22 and he didn't pay attention to it. So tomarrow I will look for the other ones. (When it was dark I took a flashlight and looked by the pen and they were covyed up near it.) My collar for the dog has a separate locater and I can put it on the Bob White whistle and I used that for them to hear because I saw how far 2 of them flew.

Here is a picture of him a 4 months.

A picture of him at 9 weeks, retrieving, that was the first time I ever threw it.
