Opening day of dove starts at noon here in Pa. Gave it some thought earlier but more interested in working my 14 month setter on some quail I just bought. He is still a little nervous using a .22. I have had the birds a week now so they should be acclimated and have their pecking order so I will take one or two and put them in the field and try the .22 again. He can be with me around power tools, lawn mower, air compressor, shop vacuum don't phase him but an unfamiliar sound does. Hopefully by hunting season he will be fine. If he is used to the sound than I might try some doves with him in retrieving them.
