Posted by Norm on January 29, 2007, 3:21 pm, in reply to "Re: Bob Haworth's new song hits the airwaves!" I'd post the link, but it is a "paid members only" forum, and will not be able to be "linked." It is part of the Acoustic Guitar Forum that only the "charter members" can even "see" on their browser, or post to. It is reserved for religious or political interchange which is strictly forbidden in the regular forums. Anyway, nothing earth-shattering. Just didn't note anyone taking the "Xenophobic" bait. Thought you should know this group, which is highly sensitized and well-read, didn't jump all over the song as a big insult. Again, FWIW. As I said, I can't really give anyone a "link," or copy and paste posts per se. Suffice it to say while "Ingrid's" viewpoint is acknowledged, it wasn't much shared or seen as adoptable. My advice? Quit focusing on the one negative, and move it along. You'll only serve to exacerbate things by obsessing on it, so to speak.

FWIW, Bob, I posted a thread on this on another unrelated forum, asking if it seemed "Xenophobic." Responses weren't prolific, but no one seemed to think so. The "reverse" satire thing was IMMEDIATELY, and undoubtedly noticed right off. Mostly, the responses were looking at it as a way to make a point using "reversing" as the tactic. I don't recall anyone getting their "pants/panties in a bunch" over it.
