Posted by Bob Haworth Lately I've been playing music for people in retirement homes, so I've seen a lot of the effects of age. It makes me sad to talk to some of these folks who still have their mental capacities intact but just don't have the physical stamina or control to function like they wish they could. It's very frustrating for them and I pray I'll be spared that. I can't imagine a day when I might be unable to pick up a musical instrument and play it. That would be as terminal as death for me. Nick seems to be dealing with his disability pretty well though. He certainly hasn't lost his sense of humor, which has always been one of his strong suits.

Yes, Nick has had a stroke. It mainly affected his speech, but I've noticed that he has also just generally slowed down quite a bit. He hardly does more than hold his guitar anymore. Getting old is not fun sometimes. Personally, I don't plan to grow old. So far so good. I've instructed my wife to have me put to sleep if I do get old.
