Put it on, had a severe vibration and felt like it was going to fall off the car, took it off, rotated it in neutral so the rear is 180* different, could drive the car up to highway speeds but still under light acceleration, constant speed, and or deceleration (coasting clutch in or engine braking) I still get a rather noticeable vibration at the same speed. Hard acceleration its vibration free.
Figured I bent something or misaligned I took it and had it balanced. They said the shaft was bent right in the middle and got it straight/balanced and should be good. Put it on and no difference in vibration than before...
I'm not doubting the shop but what else could it be? Before I replaced (and found) the bad front u joint most of the time I could drive normally without issue but add some weight in the car and the U joint vibration showed up at 35. Now its all the time at 25-30. Above that smooth as butter out on the highway up to 65mph.
I did forget to mark the shaft relation to the trans location so its back however it wants to be. Could that be it?
The rubber carrier support appears to be OK as well. I did acquire another junkyard one that I may try swapping in and see if that is the cause or not or if it changes anything but its kind of a pain to do...
Or did using the press and hitting with a hammer distort the yoke off the trans or driveshaft??? Wish I had another chevette nearby I could borrow the shaft from haha.
