Re: Starter too hot to start?
I would replace it and be done with it. they are fairly cheap and easy to get. I have had 5 or 6 chevettes in my life and have done starters on nearly all of them. just 2 bolts and it's out! tight space around it but all in all not that difficult. last one I did on my current chevette I pulled the intake manifold off first as I wanted to replace the oil sender unit as well. had a bad oil leak and wanted clear view of that side of the engine. once manifold was off starter was extremely accessable and I replaced it too. as said above this starter problem will only get worse so the sooner you replace it the better in my opinion!
