I was gonna build a honda rod motor over the winter but our new rules have to have un touched crank and stock rods. Which is fine cause thats the combo I'm running now and dynoed at crank 100hp. so instead I'm gonna try the sunbird piston, stock rod combo, and up the compression even more. running 11:1 now. New rules also allow race fuel, so I'm thinking of trying a 13:1 goal.
I have been thinking about using stock B16 rods, and running the old contour SVT piston. I am trying to get my hands on a single piston, because i'll need to shave i think its .060 or .080 (been a while since I was researching this) to make it work. want to know if there is enough meat to do that before I take that step.
but the hardened, lightened stock rods have been great in my car running 7500 rpm on stock head, rod and main studs.
