Here, having set out the train, the power is waiting for the switch to be lined back for the main before heading up to the dock to tie up. The lead unit needs some work (missing a railing, the Penn Central decal fell off, and missing an air horn, which I just picked up at Merri Seven the other day). I warped the rear end of the shell years ago by dipping it in Easy Lift Off (not a good idea). The PC paint scheme was an experiment, but I liked it so its stayed in rotation.
Power for the train is 7695/7698/7690 (first time I've had all three of my 769- GP38's lashed up!). Usually the train only rates two locos. Here's a view of the 7698 looking down Henry St as the power pulls up to Clay.
Reporting clear of the main line at Clay at 156A, the power is tucked away on the engine track.
What follows is the slowest part of the day at Shaw, usually nothing is moving until after 6AM. Must be tough for the operator to keep awake!
